When & where it all
started.

A small team with a simple idea

It started with a few Django developers meeting up in Bamenda. We noticed something: there were talented people building things in isolation. No place to ask questions. No one to review code. No way to know what others were working on. So we created a space where Django developers in Cameroon could connect. First meetup had eight people. We talked about projects, shared solutions to problems we'd all hit, and realized we weren't alone. That feeling stuck. More people started showing up. Students learning Django for the first time. Mid-level developers building SaaS products. Senior engineers working at companies across Africa. Everyone had something to share and something to learn. We started organizing workshops. Created project teams where people could contribute to real applications. And we made it clear from day one: this isn't about being the best. It's about getting better together. Today, we're a community of developers across Cameroon. Some of us work remotely for international companies. Others are building startups. A few teach at universities. But we all share the same goal: make Cameroon a place where Django developers can grow, connect, and build things that matter.

We want to build the kind of tech community we wished existed when we started. One that's practical, not performative. Where people collaborate on actual projects, not just talk about them. Where success means helping others succeed too.

We run monthly meetups where people present what they're building. We organize workshops on Django best practices, testing, deployment, and scaling. We maintain open source projects where members can contribute and learn.
We connect experienced developers with those just starting out. We help people find jobs and freelance opportunities. And we keep building spaces where Cameroonian developers can grow their skills and their careers.

The impact of our #actions - nation wide.

We started in one city. Now we have active chapters in Yaoundé, Douala, Buea, Bamenda, and Bafoussam. Each chapter runs its own meetups and workshops. Each has its own organizers and regular members. What works in Yaoundé might not work in Buea. So we let each chapter adapt to what their local developers need. Some focus on student outreach. Others on connecting freelancers with clients. A few run regular code review sessions. But they all share resources, speakers, and lessons learned. When someone in Bamenda solves a tricky deployment issue, developers in Douala benefit too. When a company in Yaoundé is hiring, we spread the word across all chapters. This network effect is real. People moving between cities stay connected. Remote workers in small towns can tap into opportunities in bigger cities. And when we organize national events, we can bring together Django developers from across Cameroon who might never have met otherwise.
